Steven Grundy becomes Australian Hearing's new Managing Director

05/11/08

The Board of Australian Hearing announced the official appointment of its new Managing Director, Mr Steven Grundy.

Cabinet approved the recommendation of the Board and the appointment was made effective from 1 November 2008.

Steven joined Australian Hearing in July last year as Chief Operating Officer. He has extensive leadership experience, including six years in senior management positions at Telstra and 21 years at the Royal Australian Navy.

Australian Hearing Chairman, Kathryn Greiner AO, said Steven was well placed to confidently lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and development.

"It's an exciting time for the hearing healthcare industry and I am confident that Australian Hearing will continue to provide top quality care and offer the latest technology to eligible Australians under Steven's strategic direction," she said.

Steven said he was looking forward to steering the organisation through a dynamic period of industry change and growth.

"The prevalence of hearing loss in Australia is growing quickly as the population ages," said Mr Grundy. "It's a highly competitive market with constantly evolving technology and consumer expectations are high."
