Australian Hearing gets quality stamp of approval

24/03/09

Australian Hearing has been recognised as a quality accredited organisation, receiving formal certification to the standard AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008.

In November and December 2008, Australian Hearing underwent auditing of its Quality Management System (QMS) by NCS International Pty Limited, a subsidiary of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) Australia.

NCSI auditors visited a number of hearing centres across Australia and Australian Hearing's National Head Office to evaluate processes for providing quality goods and services to clients and processes for measuring client and other stakeholder satisfaction.

Steven Grundy, Managing Director at Australian Hearing, said the accreditation confirmed that the organisation's systems and services were of a high standard.

"This achievement is great news for Australian Hearing and its clients," Mr Grundy said. "It is an indication that we have implemented and embraced the principles of quality management throughout our organisation."

The report stated that Australian Hearing is to be commended for developing and implementing a quality management system which suits its business needs and reflects the organisation's priorities.

The report also noted that the hearing centres visited focused on providing valuable services to the community to improve hearing quality to children and the elderly. The centres were also well presented and customer interactions were at a high level.

"QMS is about continual improvement," said Mr Grundy. "Australian Hearing will continue its management review of its QMS at all levels and continue to expand the ongoing program of internal auditing," he added.

Australian Hearing is now setting its sights on achieving ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
