Australian Hearing provides hearing services to eligible Indigenous Australians including:
Help for children
Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children have 'runny ear' or 'glue ear'. Early assessment and treatment by a health worker, doctor, audiologist or education specialist may help these conditions and prevent later hearing damage.
Help for adults
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults who think they might have a hearing problem can have a hearing test at any of Australian Hearing's hearing centres.
Australian Hearing's specialist programs for Indigenous Australians (AHSPIA)
Australian Hearing specialists also visit local communities to test hearing.
Australian Hearing works closely with the local community to plan its services. Talk to Australian Hearing to find out where the closest community service is provided and the visiting times. Community services are provided in cities, towns and Indigenous communities in all parts of the country.
