The National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL) is the research division of Australian Hearing. Since 1947, NAL's research into hearing and noise has improved the ways in which people with hearing loss can be helped. NAL's audiological procedures are widely recognised and have been adopted worldwide.
NAL's acoustic test facilities include a range of special-purpose rooms that are used for acoustical research, testing and measurement covering the full range of human hearing.
Areas of research
NAL contributes to global research in acoustics, audiology, hearing device development and hearing loss prevention.
Research findings
NAL's research findings are presented at Australian and international conferences, and published in international journals and on the NAL website (www.nal.gov.au). You can also purchase NAL publications.
