The Office of Hearing Services (OHS) administers and regulates the Australian Government's Hearing Services Program. OHS is a unit within the Department of Health and Ageing.
You can find out more about the OHS at www.health.gov.au/hear.
Adults who are eligible (see Eligibility) to become an Australian Hearing client need to apply for a voucher. Application forms are available from GPs, health centres and Australian Hearing centres.
Australian Hearing services are free apart for a small annual fee for batteries and maintenance. Many high-quality hearing devices are also free, but clients can choose to contribute towards the cost of higher technology devices with more features.
