Services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults
One in every four (26%) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged over 55 years say they have hearing loss.1 Helping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander hear better is crucial.
Hearing well is important for doing a job or getting that dream job. It’s important for feeling connected to family, friends and community.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults aged over 50 years or who are participating in a Community Development Program (CDP), Pension Card holders and most Veterans are eligible for Hearing Services.
If you know someone who is mis-hearing or missing out, encourage them to come and see us, find out more about their hearing and work out what to do next.
