Social research into hearing loss and amplification for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children
What are the barriers and enablers for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents and carers to early indentification and remediation of important hearing loss for very young children?
In 2016, Hearing Australia commissioned CIRCA to conduct social research into this area. Aboriginal researchers conducted mini-group discussion and interviews with 43 parents and carers in eight locations around the country. The findings reflect the social determinants of health, and will inform our future strategy and actions.
