Your questions answered about the new XG and XH hearing aid range
We’ve put together a helpful Q&A on our new XG and XH hearing aids models to walk you through what’s new, what’s possible, and how it can improve your daily life. With new innovative technology designed to help make listening easier, clearer, and more enjoyable we want to answer common questions about the range.
Q: I’ve heard your new hearing aids have AI. How does that help me day to day?
Absolutely—they do! Our XG Premium model includes cutting-edge AI technology that works in harmony with your brain’s natural listening abilities. When you experience hearing loss, your brain no longer receives the full range of sounds, making it harder to filter out background noise. The AI in our hearing aids has been trained on millions of real-world sounds and helps separate speech from noise, enhancing what matters most—conversations—while keeping you connected to your surroundings1.
What this means for you in everyday life is quite remarkable. Picture yourself at your grandson's birthday party. With traditional hearing aids, that environment might be overwhelming with all the children playing and adults chatting. With this technology, when you switch to your program with AI, you'll be able to focus on the conversation you're having while still being aware of what's happening around you.
Q: Besides AI, what other smart features are included?
Our XG and XH models also feature something called the Environmental Optimiser. This automatically adjusts your hearing aid settings based on your environment—whether you’re at home, in a café, or on a busy street. No need for manual changes—it does the work for you2.
Q: What is Auracast™, and is it just another name for Bluetooth®?
Auracast™ is a major leap forward from traditional Bluetooth®. While Bluetooth® typically connects just one device at a time, Auracast™ lets multiple users tune into the same audio stream.
Imagine you're at the airport and announcements are being made. With Auracast™, those announcements could be transmitted directly to your hearing aids. Or if you’re seeing a live show like watching the opera, the audio from the performance could be streamed straight to your hearing aids without any background noise.
Q: How long do the batteries last? I don’t want to be constantly charging them.
Our new hearing aids come in both rechargeable and battery-powered options:
- Rechargeable models: Up to 20 hours on a single charge^—even when using advanced features like AI.
- Battery-powered models: Up to 7 days of typical use per battery.
Just charge overnight or replace weekly—whichever suits your lifestyle.
Q: Are they durable enough for an active lifestyle?
Yes! The XG and XH models are rated IP68 for water and dust resistance5—the highest in the industry. That means they can handle sweat, rain, dust, and even the occasional splash.
We also recommend a simple daily cleaning routine (which we’ll show you), and we offer ongoing support to help maintain performance.
Q: I’ve read about “speech clarity in noise”—how does that work?
This feature helps you focus on conversations even in noisy settings—like a restaurant or shopping centre—by reducing background chatter and enhancing the voice you’re listening to. The hearing aids adjust automatically as your surroundings change, keeping conversations clear without making everything else sound unnatural2,3,4.
Q: I work from home and have a lot of video meetings. Will these hearing aids help?
Definitely. Using the Multi Mic + accessory (to be purchased separately), you can stream video call audio directly to your hearing aids via Bluetooth®. You can also take hands-free calls with a simple tap, and the built-in mic picks up your voice clearly. Plus, you can adjust the volume discreetly using the Hearing Australia app.
Q: I love watching TV but my family complains about the volume. What can I do?
With the TV-Streamer+ accessory (to be purchased separately), you can stream audio directly from your TV to your hearing aids, while your family listens at a comfortable volume through the speakers. You’ll enjoy clearer dialogue, better sound quality, and no more volume battles2,3,4.
Q: I’ve stopped enjoying music—it just doesn’t sound the same. Can these hearing aids help?
Yes—our hearing aids are designed to bring back the richness of music. You can stream directly from your phone or connect via Auracast™ in supported venues. With music-optimised sound settings, you’ll experience clearer, fuller, and more natural music without distortion.
Q: Can hearing aids really help reduce fatigue from listening?
Absolutely. Hearing loss can make your brain work overtime to fill in the gaps, which leads to fatigue. Our XG and XH models help by making speech clearer, reducing background noise1, and automatically adapting to your surroundings1. Less effort means less fatigue, and more energy for the things you love.
