Your hearing check options
Free 15-minute adult hearing check
We offer free 15-minute hearing checks for adults aged 18+ at our hearing centres and hearing events. This check is conducted by our friendly Community Hearing Advisers and will help determine if you may have hearing loss and if you’ll require further diagnosis through a comprehensive hearing assessment at one of our hearing centres.
Free online hearing check
We also offer a free online hearing check that helps you determine if you may have hearing loss. While this isn’t a professional screening, it can help you quickly identify whether further screening or a comprehensive hearing assessment may be worth considering, and you can do it from the comfort of your own home.
Comprehensive hearing assessment
If you believe you do have hearing loss, consider booking an appointment with one of our clinicians at your local hearing centre. Here's what to expect in your first appointment:
- Your clinician will conduct a comprehensive hearing assessment, which takes up to. This includes a review of your ears to make sure your ear drums look healthy and to make sure there isn’t anything blocking sounds from reaching your eardrum, like too much wax. They’ll also ask about your medical history, lifestyle, and hearing needs.
- Your clinician will explain your assessment results and provide you with a copy to take home. If you have hearing loss, your clinician will make a recommendation based on your hearing needs and will discuss our range of solutions that you might benefit from, including hearing aids.
- If you choose to be fitted for hearing aids, you'll be able to 'try before you buy' for 14 days under our free hearing aid trial program, after which we'll see you again for a follow up appointment to check your hearing aids and make sure they’re the right option for you.
