Hearing Australia Marrickville centre officially opened

Published: 8/29/2023 4:35:01 AM

On Wednesday 1 March, the Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, and the Hon Bill Shorten MP, Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Minister for Government Services, officially opened our hearing centre in Marrickville, NSW.

The Prime Minister and Minister Shorten met with our Chair Elizabeth Crouch, Managing Director Kim Terrell and our centre team. They talked about the services Hearing Australia delivers to the community and to children and adults under the government’s Community Service Obligations (CSO) Program. In addition to serving the local Marrickville community, the dedicated team at Marrickville, which cares for some 2,000 clients, also provides outreach services to Norfolk Island and to First Nations peoples in Redfern, La Perouse and the Northern Territory.

The Prime Minister and Minister Shorten also received a demonstration of a hearing check and met our gorgeous client, 14 month old Zara, and her parents, learning first hand the life changing difference our care and services make.

It was a wonderful way to kick off Hearing Awareness Week (1-7 March).
