Hearing Australia’s Spirit of Sound Challenge 2025 – Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter:  Australian Hearing Services (trading as Hearing Australia), ABN 80 308 797 033, 16 University Avenue, Macquarie University, NSW 2109.

2. Eligibility:  Open to registered Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services in Australia. Employees of the Promoter, immediate family members of employees, and employees of any company associated with the challenge are not eligible to enter.

3. Entry Period: The competition opens on 3 September 2025 and closes at 11:59pm AWST on 14 November 2025.

4. How to Enter: To enter, Services must:

  • Use the Spirit of Sound Educators’ Guide
  • Complete the Spirit of Sound Challenge Form
  • Submit a photo showing how your Services used the Spirit of Sound Educator Guide with children and/or families.
  • Include a completed Hearing Australia Media Consent Form for all individuals (including children, parents/carers and service employees) featured in the media.
  • Email entries to FirstNations@hearing.com.au with the subject line: “Spirit of Sound Challenge 2025 – [Your Service Name]”.
  • Limit of one entry per Service.

5. Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged by a panel selected by the Promoter based on:

  • Implementation of Spirit of Sound Educators’ Guide activities.
  • Most outstanding image, based on quality of content (main subjects in focus, image demonstrates nice action shot, good lighting quality, subjects in frame, photo is level).
  • Engagement with children, families, and/or community.

The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Prize: One (1) winner will receive a $500 Koori Curriculum digital voucher and a certificate of recognition. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash and will be sent to the email address provided in the entry. Where a prize (or portion of a prize) becomes unavailable for any reason beyond the Promotor’s control, the Promotor reserves the right to provide an alternative prize of equal or greater monetary value.

7. Use of Entries: By entering, Services acknowledge and agree that the Promoter may use the material submitted, in accordance with the Hearing Australia Media Consent Form provided.

8. Winner Notification: The winner will be contacted by email and/or phone by 21 November 2025. The winner will be announced by e-communications from partner channels, including SNAICC, Koori Curriculum and ECA, and Hearing Australia’s First Nations social media platforms. If the winner does not respond within 14 days, the winner forfeits the prize, and the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternate winner. The winning entry may be featured in the announcement.

9. Liability: To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or special loss suffered by an entrant in connection with the challenge, howsoever caused or arising (including, without limitation, under Contract or tort (including negligence)).

10. Privacy and Your Personal Information: Hearing Australia is committed to protecting your privacy as outlined in our Privacy Policy. The personal information collected by submitting an entry to the Spirit of Sound Challenge 2025, is required to process your entry and related purposes. 11. General Conditions: 

  • By entering, Services consent to the Promoter using their details as provided on the Spirit of Sound Challenge Form - 2025, in connection with the Spirit of Sound Challenge 2025 and related purposes.
  • Vouchers are subject to the terms and conditions, and validity period, specified by the supplier of the voucher.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions, or that are deemed inappropriate, or otherwise objectionable.
  • In the event that the Promoter is unable to run the challenge due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the challenge.
  • The entrant warrants that the submitted entry does not contain, in whole or in part, any third-party copyright material, and does not infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of any person; and the entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter against all liabilities, costs and expenses the Promoter may incur as a result of any breach of this warranty.
