Hearing Australia acquires Earworx to expand access to integrated ear and hearing care to help more Australians
9 September 2026
Hearing Australia has acquired Earworx, one of Australia's leading specialist ear wax removal providers, expanding the range of ear and hearing care services available to Australians.
Earworx was established 10 years ago and has built a strong reputation for delivering safe, effective and professional ear wax removal services using microsuction technology by Registered Nurses, through a national network of clinics.
Hearing Australia is one of Australia’s leading providers of hearing health services, supporting more than 260,000 children and adults each year, including First Nations peoples, pensioners and veterans.
The acquisition brings together two organisations with a shared commitment to improving the ear and hearing health for all Australians through clinical excellence, high-quality care and innovation. Hearing Australia and Earworx are closely aligned in their focus on client-centred care and helping people achieve better hearing and wellbeing.
More connected ear and hearing care
Ear health is an important part of overall hearing health. Excess ear wax can affect hearing and hearing aid performance, making timely access to ear wax removal an important part of a person's hearing health journey.
Together, the organisations will be able to develop stronger connections between specialist ear care and hearing services. This will help clients access the right care at the right time and move more easily between services when needed.
Hearing Australia Managing Director, Mr Eron Plumb, said the acquisition was a natural extension of Hearing Australia's commitment to provide a more holistic ear and hearing health service, and its purpose to improve the wellbeing of Australians through better hearing health.
"For over 75 years, Hearing Australia has helped millions of Australians improve their hearing, communication and quality of life. Ear health and hearing health are closely linked, and by welcoming Earworx to Hearing Australia, we’re expanding our ability to support more people across more of their hearing journey.
"Earworx has built an outstanding reputation for clinical excellence, safety and patient care. We’re excited to welcome their highly skilled team and combine our expertise to help even more Australians access the care they need,” adds Eron.
“Together, we can make it easier for people to seek help earlier, access specialist care and achieve better ear health and hearing outcomes.”
